Abstract
This study aims to determine the role of boroh women in the sustainability of fishermen's family functions in Sekunyit Village, South Kaur District, Kaur District. Boroh women are women who work pulling fishermen's boats after they have finished fishing, for a certain wage. The presence of women working as boroh boat pullers has existed since 2010 in Sekunyit Beach, South Kaur. The researcher used a qualitative research method, with research informants determined through purposive techniques (data collection based on specific considerations) supported by data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The data will then be analyzed through various stages, namely data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. In this study, analysis will be conducted using Robert K. Merton's Structural Functionalism Theory regarding expected and unexpected functions. Based on the research conducted, the results found by the researcher indicate both expected and unexpected functions of the role of boroh women, where the expected functions of the presence of boroh women include helping the family economy, creating job opportunities, and increasing social interaction among boroh women. Meanwhile, the unexpected functions include reduced family togetherness and the occurrence of double roles for boroh women
